What will I be doing?

  • Assisting in administering the Abingdon Linux and Windows infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting hardware, operating systems and software
  • Researching innovative ideas and solutions within different areas of IT
  • Assist with managing audio and video conference systems based at Abingdon

  • Design and edit media projects for both internal and external audiences.
  • Liaises with internal experts and contractors to develop content and support materials such as articles, blogs, podcasts, web content, and videos.
  • Curates and adapts editorial content, including copywriting and proofreading material for a variety of internal and external platforms.
  • Uses social media channels including LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook, and understands their Search Engine Optimization and Analytics.
  • Researches, and helps to develop and implement communication strategies.
  • Participates in high-visibility projects under the guidance of experienced company personnel.
  • Presents a professional attitude, while balancing multiple-stakeholder requirements.
  • Builds professional relationships globally.
  • Acquires basic knowledge of the energy industry.
  • Creates reports and analytics using spreadsheets and power BI.


  • You will have completed your second (penultimate) year of an undergraduate degree in Communications, Marketing, or related course, expecting at least a 2:1 grade.
  • You will have good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including word, and XL
  • It will be helpful if you have worked in student radio or have experience of producing podcasts.


  • Draft communication materials related to benefits eligibility, coverage, limits, tax status, wellbeing material for employees and the HR organization.
  • Help employees better understand their benefits and assist the HR community in explaining the plans.
  • Coordinate communication of benefits policy-related issues.
  • Establish regular meetings between HR and the wellbeing provider.
  • Gather benefits data and statists.
  • Participate in local relevant market surveys as identified by the Benefits Manager.
  • Analyse benefits survey results to identify trends, practices, costs and recommend solutions to keep the organization level with the market
  • Monitor and understand changes to statutory requirements to ensure that benefit plans are compliant with government regulations.
  • Conduct groundwork for potential changes in benefits and assist in the development of corresponding administrative changes.
  • Own and maintain the information contained within BenTrack (benefits management system) and coordinate with local benefits owner.
  • Support the development of clear and concise benefits management systems including best practices to ensure the smooth execution of benefits administration.
  • Participate in discussions with plan administrators and carriers to assist in the management of services.
  • Assist in the billing and payment process with cooperation from Finance to make sure the providers’ invoices are paid.
  • Participate in benefit due diligence during mergers and acquisitions.
  • Complies with all applicable Schlumberger standards and policies.
  • Identifies and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with the Data Privacy & Protection Guidelines and relevant legislation

Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human Resources or Management.
