• What does ‘remediation’ mean? It means fixing your PDFs so that disabled people find them easier to use.

• Making your PDFs accessible:We make sure your PDFs are compliant withPDF/UA and WCAG 2.2 AA, so they work well with screen readers.
• What’s a screen reader?
  It’s a tool that reads out loud what’s on the screen, helping blind or partially sighted people use digital content.
• Our credentials:
  Microlink’s Retail PDF remediation team is led by a Digital Accessibility Consultant with a PhD in Computer Science that specialised in digital accessibility. Our Digital Accessibility Administrator is Microlink’s lead PDF remediator who is a certified IAAP Accessible Document Specialist (ADS). 
• Our checks and remediation:
  Microlink ensures that your PDFs are checked with industry standard software and we manually remediate the problems found. 

Free Checks:

• Free check-up: We’ll check your PDF(s) for free to see if they are ready to be remediated. We’ll check things like colour contrast, tags, and fonts.
• Free complexity assessment: We’ll review your PDFs for free to see if pages have standard or complex content. Please note blank pages are excluded.

How much will it cost?

• Our costs are complexity dependent, and we aim to make them affordable to our customers/clients. 
• We can discuss retail PDF remediation costs in more detail on a Microsoft Teams or Zoom call or by email and look forward to working on your files. 

Requesting a quote: 

• Once we have checked and undertaken a complexity assessment of your files this will help us to prepare a more accurate quote for you.

How quickly can you turn this around?

• Retail PDF Remediation: Our retail PDF remediation service is designed to remediate up to a maximum of 1500 pages per month or a maximum of 70-75 pages per day, but this is complexity dependent.
• PDF remediation at scale: If you require PDF remediation at scale, for example 1.5K+ pages per month remediating on average 70-75 pages per day, then please do email us at digital.accessibility@microlinkpc.com.

Getting Started

• Send us a sample PDF(s)
  Just one file or a few that represent the rest. For example, three to five files.
• Free check-up
  We’ll review your PDFs for free to see if they are ready to be remediated. We’ll check things like colour contrast, tags, and fonts.
• What if there are problems?
  As part of our paid for service if the issues can be fixed, we’ll fix them for you. Or if they are more complex, we’ll let you know what’s needed.
