Microlink University Activities
The University sector has been our the engine house of technological development in assistive technology since 1992. When a disabled student enters University they are entitled to a Needs assessment which looks at how technology can help put them back on a level footing with their peers. The needs assessment can be performed during any stage of the university course. Furthermore, students can at any point choose to have additional assistance on top of the initial technology that was provided if you feel it to be necessary. For example, many students in their 3rd year of university choose to have additional assistive technology to aid in the additional demands of their chosen course.
Microlink PC currently supports approximately 50,000 disabled students in UK Universities. In the vast majority of cases the we have supplied the student with a custom built computer and software designed to enable them to overcome any barriers to learning caused by their disability.
Microlink has been instrumental in the development of the provision of assistive technology for students and particularly university students since 1992. These provisions have positively changed the lives of countless students who have gone on to successfully complete their degrees and go into jobs and post graduate studies.
