MiSAS
What is MiSAS?
MiSAS stands for Microlink Support and Services which provides centralised supply of assistive technology, ergonomic furniture, training and technical support for disabled employees in the work place. We extend our services with strategic partners to offer an HR advisory service for disability related issues and accessibility for premises or buildings. These services are offered independently or as part of our complete, fully managed disability and reasonable adjustment service, MiDRAS.
Supply of Assistive Technology and Ergonomic Furniture
Microlink is the UK’s leading supplier of assistive products including ergonomic furniture and our centralised procurement and warehousing enables us to provide competitive pricing with the ability to meet the most demanding lead times. Our dedicated national team of installers and engineers are experienced in the requirements for corporate clients and are unmatched in their service delivery.
With over 3000 products in our database, Microlink can source and provide the broadest range of products coupled with an advisory service and in-house product support. Products can be loaned for evaluation and configured for central deployment, assisted by our technical team.
Training
Specialist hardware or software assistive technology training is versatile and customisable to meet the specific needs of the user with relevance to their area of work. We have the largest network of AT training providers with an in depth knowledge and understanding of each application. We tailor the training to meet the end users requirements and help them gain maximum benefit from the technology; improving their efficiency, productivity and personal well-being.
We also provide accessibility management training solutions such as coping strategies and other specialised sessions such as disability awareness training. Coping strategies training provides the individual with the tools to take action and actually change the circumstances they face. These strategies can be very effective for stress relief; often a small change is all that’s required to make a huge shift in positive attitude. One change can lead to others, so that a chain reaction of positive change is created and circumstances improve significantly.
Many people are unsure of how to respond to someone with a disability and are self conscious about the language they use. Often they fear being unable to cope with a situation because of lack of knowledge about the appropriate etiquette when working with people with disabilities. Training for Line managers and senior managers on disability awareness clearly communicates the steps anyone can take to respond properly to people with disabilities. Our experienced trainers will customise the training to the specific issues, sensitivities, and level of awareness within an organisation. Disability awareness training is designed to ensure that staff provide the best service to customers/clients with disabilities and managers and other employees maximize their working relationships with colleagues with disabilities.
Technical Support
Microlink has the largest dedicated Assistive Technology support department in the UK and since 1992, has been providing unparalleled technical service and resolutions. IT departments can outsource their assistive technology provisions entirely or partially to Microlink experts. This service is not limited to technical expertise and includes identifying individual AT solutions from assessment reports or through our resident advisors.
The solution can also include full site attendance, installation and deployment in complete coordination with the organisation’s IT department or outsourced providers.
Furthermore, we perform Research & Development on the full range of AT, advise manufacturers on accessibility of their products and offer our expertise on the issues which concerns both users and IT departments.
Microlink supports users with all types of disabilities and therefore our expertise is not limited to one group or a specific area.
Case Management
Our experience has shown us that one of the most challenging aspects of disability management in the work place is managing a case from needs identification right through to implementation of reasonable adjustments. Often, cross functional and cross departmental communication is necessary, coupled with supplier contact, HR involvement, training scheduling and follow up reviews. Microlink can offer the single point of contact with the expertise to pull it all together and manage the case to a successful conclusion. An integral part of our full managed service MiDRAS, case management can be tailored as a bespoke solution for your disability management programme.
