What is MiDRAS?

MiDRAS is the Microlink Disability and Reasonable Adjustment Service. It gives organisations an end-to-end fully managed process for disability management in the work place. MiDRAS can be fully integrated with the ‘Access to Work’ government funded scheme. This outsourced solution is not only beneficial to the effectiveness of the employee, but is also a cost effective route for the employer.

HR departments recognise the need and benefits of a fully integrated service but few have the specialist skills necessary to provide it. Microlink has been central to the development of the assistive technology and the disability support industry since 1992 and is able to bring a wealth of experience within the MiDRAS service. MiDRAS can be customised to meet your needs from the service modules below.

The Challenges of Disability Management

The challenges associated with managing disability at work present an excellent case for business process outsourcing.

  • The skills required to provide an end-to-end service are highly specialised and unusually scarce

  • The incidence of complex cases is relatively low, making it costly to retain a specialist team

  • The risk to reputation of getting it wrong is very high.

  • The legal exposure to damages for unfair dismissal on grounds of disability is uncapped

  • The disability sector is a fractured market place characterised by ‘islands of excellence’

  • Outside the sector, it is extremely difficult to quickly source the right disability professional

  • The time taken from identification to implementation of a reasonable adjustment is unacceptably long in most organisations
