Since 1992 Microlink has grown to become the UK's largest independent supplier of assistive technology. As well as becoming the distribution hub of a fast growing network of national offices across the UK, the Chandlers Ford head quarters is a centre for research and development that also houses Europe’s largest technical support team that specialises in assistive technology.
Microlink PC has become recognised as a one stop shop providing specialist information, custom built computers, ergonomic equipment and bespoke solutions, technology for visually impaired people and highly specialised support.
Microlink has been instrumental in the creation and advancement of the assistive technology industry and has continually lobbied the changes needed to best serve the future of people that need the use of assistive technology in their lives successfully through BATA (British Assistive Technology Association), which Microlink is a proud co-founder. These advancements have been acknowledged by the Employers Forum on Disability who awarded Microlink with their highest honour of Gold Card Membership. The award reflects the advances made to create environments whereby it is easier for members to recruit and retain disabled employees. In addition, to better serve the needs of disabled customers and stakeholders. Furthermore, Microlink placed an accomplished 7th out of 100 companies in the disability standard awards 2009. Very impressive considering that most of the other companies were blue chip companies including the likes of BT and Barclays Bank.
Microlink’s achievements have not only been acknowledged within the industry but also by external bodies such as the Institute of Directors who in March 2010 awarded Microlink’s founder and Managing Director, Dr Nasser Siabi the director of the year award for London and the south east.
Disability Awareness
At Microlink we reap the benefit of our own systems and service. An understanding of the benefits of applied assistive technology means many staff at Microlink are able to achieve their potential no matter their disability, at great benefit to us. Microlink are ranked in the top 10 by the disability standard, ahead of many blue chip companies.
International Profile
As well as a managing a growing network of dealerships across the UK, Microlink PC has been approached by universities and Government departments across the EMEA region and also South Africa. We have recently opened an office in Cape Town to support an ongoing project to provide literacy solutions to students in the Western Cape and also the merging disability support programme in South African universities.
